Maria Howell Kicks Off New Season of Jazz at the Bechtler!

It's official! Tickets for our first 2022 - 2023 Jazz at the Bechtler season concert featuring American actress, singer, and voiceover artist, Maria Howell, are now on sale. 

Join us on Friday, July 1 at 6 or 8:15 PM as we welcome back vocalist Maria Howell to the Bechtler stage as she rejoins the Ziad Jazz Quartet for a special Jazz at the Bechtler season kick off performance! Accompanying Maria on stage will be Ziad Rabie (saxophone), Noel Freidline (piano), Ron Brendle (bass), and Rick Dior (drums) performing songs such as “Someone to Watch Over Me” by George & Ira Gershwin, “The Lady Is A Tramp” by Rodgers and Hart, and “A Tisket-A Tasket” by Ella Fitzgerald.

Get to know Maria Howell: 

American actress, singer, and voiceover artist, Maria Howell is best known for her role as the choir soloist in the 1985 Oscar-nominated film The Color Purple. She has also shared the stage with Ray Charles, Najee, George Howard, Ramsey Lewis, George Benson, Nancy Wilson, Marvin Hamlisch, Will Downing, and Babyface. Click here to learn more!  


Concerts are performed at 6 and 8:15 PM. Each concert is 75 minutes with no intermission. Doors open at 5:30 PM for the 6 PM concert and 7:45 PM for the 8:15 PM concert. Light bites and a full bar are available for purchase.
