Music and Museum: A Dedication to Hans and Bessie Bechtler
In memory of Hans and Bessie Bechtler, parents of Bechtler Museum of Modern Art founder Andreas Bechtler, this month's concert is dedicated to Hans Bechtler in honor of his February birthday. Highlighting a cornucopia of lesser-known romantic composers, the concert commences with piano quintets from the Swedish composer Elfrida Andree and African American composer Florence Price. Other selections throughout the evening include piano trios by French composers, including Cecile Chaminade and Germaine Tailleferre. Finally, the hauntingly beautiful "Voices Intime" by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius conclude the concert with a performance that is not to be missed.
